Commentary
Demand: We saw the slightest increase over
the last half of 2009, approximately 3.4% up from the lows. 2010
however
is off to a poor start. It is tempting to attribute this to
remarkably bad weather, the kind not seen here in 30 to 50 years.
Time will tell.
Supply: Inventories are in a state
of flux. Dozens of listings have expired in the last month, only partly
renewed. Combined with the poor demand in January, any
expression of inventories in terms of months of supply is fairly
meaningless at this point, in our opinion.
