Commentary
Demand: We saw the slightest increase over
the last half of 2009, approximately 3.4% up from the lows.
2010 however is off to a poor start. It is tempting to
attribute this to remarkably bad weather, the kind not seen here in
30 to 50 years. 16% of the year is gone, time will tell.
Supply: Inventories are inching upwards in
terms of raw numbers. Combined with the poor demand, any
expression of inventories in terms of months of supply is fairly
meaningless at this point, in our opinion.
