The Concept of the Long Tail States:
Commerce on the internet occurs
NOT from the 6 or 8 huge search terms in an economic
sector, for example. a search such as "Asheville real estate".
Rather, business is done in the dozens of specific,
longer search terms
used by focused buyers, for example, "homes for sale in
Asheville gated communities". (Where we happen to be page
1, # 5).
How We Choose Our Keywords
*Our search terms are selected from every NAR Buyers'
Survey since 2002. We use the desirable characteristics
most often mentioned by resort market buyers that apply to the
greater Asheville market.
*Our web strategy thus uses such terms as, skiing, golf, gated
communities, vacation, land, log homes, and of course, the word
"Asheville".
"Asheville" is used in searches 25 times more often than "Mars Hill",
and 1,200-25,000 times more frequently than "Wolf Laurel" searches.
Only Madison County firm with an "Asheville" related search
presence.
*For resort market transactions, as opposed
to total sales, the internet is now responsible for slightly more
than 50% of sales according to the NAR.
*In 2008, "Print Ads in Real Estate
Magazines", were mentioned by less than 1% of total buyers.
*For resort market buyers, who shop from an
average distance of 250 miles, the impact of print is even more
miniscule.
*The Result For You?: More page 1 search results
for more specific and powerful search terms than any firm within 20
miles, including dominance of page 1 results for Youtube, the most
engaged buyers of all.
